We work on buildings with a history and on empty plots. The method is the same: measure, listen, cut what is surplus. We do not make pretty renders to sell ideas the building work cannot carry.

House in Contumil

A 1943 workers’ house on two floors with a lightwell that never saw the sun. We kept the granite walls and replaced everything else with a lightweight structure set back from the façade.

The lightwell became a central courtyard: it takes the midday sun and ventilates the bedrooms. The kitchen dropped to garden level and gained one continuous polished concrete worktop.
