How does the website renting model work?
You pay an initial setup fee, covering the design and build of the bespoke site, and a monthly fee that includes hosting, domain, security, maintenance and small changes. The contract has a 24-month commitment, during which the site is managed by Shiftworks.
Who owns the site? And the domain?
The domain is registered in your name from the start. The site is operated by Shiftworks while it's being rented — you can edit the content freely, and ownership of the site becomes yours if you choose to buy it.
Can I buy the site later?
Yes. You can acquire the site at any time for a purchase value defined in the contract (from €850, excluding VAT). From then on the site is yours, with optional maintenance.
How much does a rented website cost?
The cost has two components: an initial setup from €350 and a monthly fee from €89/month, always excluding VAT. The monthly fee already includes hosting, domain, security and maintenance. The final price depends on the plan — contact us for a bespoke proposal.
What happens at the end of the 24 months?
You can continue with a lower continuity fee (hosting, maintenance and support only), buy the site, or end the service. The decision is always yours.
What's the difference from a traditional Shiftworks website?
The result is an equally professional, bespoke site; what changes is the way you pay. In the traditional model you pay for the development all at once; with renting you spread the cost across a monthly fee that already includes maintenance. For those just starting out, renting greatly lowers the barrier to entry.
